Around the cities of Metz, Nancy and Verdun, one can find the region Lorraine. Lorraine is situates near the borders of Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany and is a crossroad of major European routes. Many times in history the region has been the target of invasions, which has led to the installment of the Centre Modial de la Paix (the center of world peace) in Verdun.
